🔗 Share this article Toy Story 5 Teaser Pits The Beloved Duo Versus a Digital Device Exactly 30 years since the first Toy Story movie was released, launching Pixar as a leading animation studio and introducing audiences to iconic figures like Woody (Tom Hanks) and the space ranger (the voice talent), who are now household names. Coming in 2026, the next chapter is set to arrive. The initial preview for Toy Story 5 landed this week, providing a glimpse into the storyline but leaving viewers curious how it will resolve the ending of Toy Story 4. Bonnie's New Toy: A Digital Device Frightens the Toys The preview reveals the young girl — who inherited Andy's toys when he grew up — getting a latest toy, one that terrifies Woody, Buzz, and the crew. She acquires her initial digital gadget, and she is excited about it. Presumably, the amphibian-inspired device will come to life just like the rest of her playthings. Still, the characters appear to consider it as a threat coming to replace them, which it probably is. Woody's Return: Mysteries from Toy Story 4 One thing the teaser doesn't touch on is why the sheriff is returned with his friends in Bonnie's room. The finale of Toy Story 4 saw him embark on a fresh journey with Bo Peep (the actress), journeying with a carnival and helping prize toys locate loving owners. Certainly, Pixar will address the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the film. Seeing him show up in Bonnie's room without warning is somewhat puzzling, however. It also makes us wonder whether his partner will have returned with him. And where is Duke Caboom (Keanu Reeves)? Continuity from the Previous Film At the very least, some elements are continuing from the prior film. The final act Woody did before setting off for his fresh path was pass his sheriff badge to Jessie (the voice actor), entrusting her in charge of the toy domain. In the teaser shows the insignia pinned to her outfit. Hopefully she is remains the driving force among the toys. Toy Story 5 arrives in theaters on the scheduled date.
