19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hard surfaces

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden championship for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a former number one, has experienced a difficult year, achieving just one match at the big events and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.

His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in especial - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and eventually parting ways with long-time trainer Cervara.

Now working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

It is the player's first trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface from that period of the previous year.

Success also means Medvedev has won twenty-one championships at 21 different tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters together, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my child her name, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his past six finals, featuring in that event earlier this year.

Medvedev's retrieving strategy and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had prompted commentators to question if his skill to play at the top level was concluded.

Yet the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and play assertively, backed up by an improved service.

Medvedev came back from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky opponent, winning 4 of the last five games to gain the advantage.

Both players exchanged breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to create a final set.

The opponent saved 4 initial chances in a competitive final set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Appropriately, the winner earned victory with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
